Titleist 910 D2 with 8.5º loft and fitted with Diamana Blue 65g X-stiff flex shaft.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
Looks fantastic in that classic Titleist fashion. I’ve gone through the Titleist fitting process before, and had this driver set-up to produce a lower flight for the windy coastal course I regularly play. The angles didn’t need much tweaking.
VERDICT:
I found it easier to fade the ball than draw it during the road test. It will be fun tinkering with the different settings to see how it affects the flight.
On shots out of the middle, the feel was very satisfying and the sound was pure. I received good feedback on poor shots, and because of the dark finish, you’d always get a good idea of where the impact point was. The bad shots didn’t lose too much distance, and they wouldn’t shape too much either. The good ones flew straight and long.
During the round, we faced the par-5 13th into a slight breeze. I hit a drive that bored straight through the wind, the kind of shot I’d been looking for at the fitting. I’m pretty convinced about the 910, and feel like it will get even better after a couple more rounds and some fine-tuning on the range.
